Hand Serging

When oriental rugs are finished being woven, a protective serging is wrapped on the sides of the rug. This over-wrapping is usually made of wool, cotton, goat hair or silk, giving the rug a finished look while maintaining its integrity. Over time this serging can wear and separate from the sides. Our expert weavers can re-wrap the sides using wool that matches the color and texture of your textile as closely as possible. This process is usually done by hand, restoring beauty and protection to your rug.
